Basudeb Dasgupta is a Professor at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, working in theoretical physics. He is known for contributions to the physics of neutrinos and dark matter.
After earning his PhD from TIFR, he held research appointments at the Max Planck Institute for Physics, Ohio State University, and the International Centre for Theoretical Physics before joining the TIFR faculty. His work has been recognized with the ICTP Prize and the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, and he is a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences.
